SinceVision Makes Its Biggest Scientific Imaging Push Yet With New Back-Illuminated Cooled sCMOS Camera Line

SinceVision, a rising imaging and sensor maker from China, is entering the global scientific camera market. They are launching the Solis Series. This new line features back-illuminated cooled sCMOS cameras. These cameras work well in very low-light conditions. They’re perfect for quantum optics labs and deep-sky astronomy setups.

The Solis Series is a key step for a company known in Asia for industrial sensors and high-speed cameras. It expands into a market that U.S., Japanese, and European players have long dominated. The specs suggest that SinceVision isn’t easing into the market, it’s entering with force.

Two Cameras, Two Very Different Scientific Frontiers

The Solis Series has two flagship models. Each one is designed for a unique type of scientific battlefield. One is built for biologists fighting phototoxicity under high-magnification lenses. The other is built for physicists coaxing single photons out of darkness. Together, they cover the full spectrum of modern low-light research.

Solis B0465: Built for Microscopes Pushing Past Biological Limits

The Solis B0465 is made for advanced microscopy labs. It’s perfect for those pushing the limits of biological visibility. This camera is ideal for labs. It excels in live-cell imaging, fluorescence analysis, and super-resolution workflows. It counts photons one by one, ensuring no noisy frames or long exposure times. The 2048 × 2048 back-illuminated sCMOS sensor has a 95% peak quantum efficiency at 560 nm. It can acquire full frames at 100 fps. This is supported by USB 3.1 and 10GigE data paths. A 55°C deep-cooling system keeps long sessions stable. The welded, vacuum-sealed chamber also reduces dark current drift. The B0465 lets SinceVision compete with major scientific imaging companies. It offers stability and sensitivity. This protects delicate samples and captures weak fluorescent signals before they fade.

Solis B518: The Heavy Hitter for Quantum and Single-Photon Research

The B0465 is for biologists, while the Solis B518 is made for physicists. It’s perfect for those in basement labs, cryogenic setups, and dark rooms with optical breadboards. This model is built for experiments where the light source might be a single photon, or none at all. The B518 has 18 μm ultra-large pixels. They collect nearly 8× more light than standard sensors. This means the B518 captures signals that most cameras can’t even see. This device is ultra-sensitive. It has a full-well capacity of 260 ke⁻. The readout noise is 0.45 e⁻. Its cooling system can reach 60°C. This makes it great for quantum optics, astronomy, and precision spectroscopy. It avoids the noise common in EMCCD systems. This means researchers get clear and honest photon data. That’s vital because the success of the whole experiment depends on the accuracy of just a few photons.

The Tech Behind the Series: Cooling, Vacuum Sealing, and Noise Suppression

SinceVision is using the Solis Series to highlight tech that's rarely seen from a Chinese maker in this field.

  1. Back-illuminated sensor architecture for maximum photon capture
  2. Proprietary welded vacuum chambers achieving sub-10⁻⁹ Pa·m³/s leak rates
  3. Deep cooling systems designed to suppress dark current
  4. Sub-electron-level readout circuits for faint-signal detection

The company states that all units go through extended environmental stress tests. This ensures stability for long, multi-hour observations.

A Strategic Push Into Global Scientific Markets

Solis Series shows SinceVision's goal to enter high-value scientific fields. The brand has expanded in Asia, Europe, and Americas. It focuses on industrial inspection, especially in electronics, lithium batteries, and precision manufacturing.

Applications include:

  • Super-resolution and fluorescence microscopy
  • Live-cell imaging
  • Quantum optics and single-photon experiments
  • Astronomical observation
  • Spectral imaging and custom instrumentation

Single-Atom Imaging, Single Molecule Imaging, Photoluminescence PL, Super-Resolution Imaging

Astronomical Observation, Cell Imaging, Brain Science, Confocal Imaging

The company is opening up sensor-level and software customization. This change meets the needs of universities, observatories, and OEM system integrators.

"The Solis Series represents a major step forward in our scientific imaging portfolio," said Product Manager, Arthur Wang at SinceVision. "By integrating advanced BSI sensors with deep cooling and vacuum sealing, we are providing researchers with a stable, high-performance platform for the most challenging low-light experiments. Our goal is to give scientists the most reliable tools possible as they push the boundaries of discovery."

Why This Matters

The global sCMOS market has long been dominated by U.S., Japanese, and European brands. A Chinese manufacturer is launching back-illuminated, cooled, vacuum-sealed, ultra-low-noise systems. This is a big change, especially as research institutes look for cost-efficient, high-performance options.
