New heavy-payload conveyance, tightening technology, and innovative controls highlight Bosch Rexroth’s booth at The Battery Show 2026
Battery manufacturing demands efficient solutions that help OEMs meet growing consumer needs. Bosch Rexroth is working with many of the top manufacturers to meet those goals, and the solutions being leveraged across the industry will be on display at Booth #4330 at The Battery Show 2026 in Detroit. Bosch Rexroth specialists will provide demonstrations of the technology throughout the show and educate attendees on how industry evolution is changing the way solutions are designed and integrated.
Among the technology on display will be:
Heavy Payload Transport
Bosch Rexroth will be exhibiting its new TS 7plus roller conveyor, which is the world’s first freely configurable, fully electric conveyance solution for workpieces weighing up to 3,000 kg. Battery manufacturers need to transport heavy payloads faster and with precision, and the TS 7plus is designed specifically for this purpose. TS 7plus transports material via conveyor rollers on freely configurable modular sections with lift/transverse, rotary, and positioning units, as well as stop gates. The 350mm minimum possible transportation height for both longitudinal and transverse conveying helps facilitate manual processes and improve ergonomics for employees, while the standard dimensions of the workpiece pallets are up to 2,200 x 3,000 mm. With a conveyor speed of up to 24 m/min, the system achieves significantly shorter transport times than automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
Tackling Tightening
Another critical element of battery manufacturing is tightening, as packs need to be reliably secured to specific torque and angle requirements. Bosch Rexroth’s cordless nutrunner NEXO will be at The Battery Show, as it provides battery manufacturers with an intuitive, modern, and user-friendly design combined with reliable performance. The browser-based operating system and integrated display provide a clear overview of the current tightening results and reliable connectivity to remote systems. The hand-held tool is available as a pistol or right-angle nutrunner and meets the strict requirements of the VDI/VDE 2862 for Category A tightening – which is ideal for safety-critical tightening applications.
Controlling the Narrative
At the heart of battery manufacturing operations is Bosch Rexroth’s ctrlX CORE controller, which is managing physical processes. The ctrlX CORE utilizes Bosch Rexroth’s real-time capable, Linux-based ctrlX OS while also providing manufacturers the freedom to integrate a variety of customized apps for process monitoring and optimization. The controller also features multiple interfaces such as 1-Gbit Ethernet, USB and a µSD card slot, as well as permanent memory for secure data storage and EtherCAT as an automation bus.
Also at the show will be a cabinet-free display of ctrlX DRIVE cabinet-free. These drives are IP67-rated and are mounted directly on the machine rather than kept in a central cabinet. This allows for greater flexibility in powering manufacturing technology and drastically reduces cabling within a factory floor.
Finally, Dr. Andreas Letsch, who leads the battery industry vertical within Factory Automation at Bosch Rexroth, will present at the show a comprehensive blueprint for designing and implementing a highly automated, cycle-time-optimized battery recycling facility. Visitors can listen to Dr. Letsch’s presentation at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, October 14 in Room 140CD.
Bosch Rexroth’s specialists will be on hand throughout the show to provide additional insights and guidance on crafting effective strategies for smarter and more efficient factory automation solutions. For more information, please visit boschrexroth-us.com/batteryshow.
